Onion Dip

I am always trying to find ways to make the food we love without the extra cost.   Three hungry boys can put a damper on my pocket.  A little help here and there is always welcome.   This fits the bill.  ;)   Reminiscent of the onion dip my precious Mama made with Lipton's Dry Onion Soup Mix.  You will love this!  Hubby said it needs more onions, I say it is just right.  ;)  Add more onions, and/or dried minced onions, to suit your taste...or those devouring the dip.  ~smile~

Sour Cream Ganache

What do you do when you don't have cream to make a ganache?  You use what you have in the refrigerator, this for me meant sour cream.   I love the way it tastes on my overpowering chocolate brownie and Frozen Banana Eclair Cake.  This gets very thick as it cools so work fast.  You can use a little more sour cream if you want it thinner, but not too much.  You don't want a strong taste of the sour cream.  I used Hershey's Dark Chocolate Special Blend and it turned out almost bittersweet.  We loved it.  Next time you are out of cream, grab the sour cream.

Sour Cream Pound Cake

I Found It!  I found my recipe for my Sour Cream Pound Cake on another computer.   Woo Hoo!  I am going to use this to make little Lego cakes for the twins birthday next month.  Trying it out anyway.  This recipe is like the one my sweet Grandma would make.  She sold her cakes at the curb market.  Oh, how I miss her. And worse, it hurts that my boys were never able to meet such a beautiful lady.  Now, I'm off to make new memories.

This recipe is old.  The bundt pans today are a lot smaller than the ones of years gone by.  You may need to use a loaf pan along with a bundt pan if your pan looks too full.
